As from September 2015 Sivirom OÜ offers the clients direct Railway service from China to European destinations and in reverse direction. This service is established via Trans-Siberian railway extending through the wide gauge network of 9.500 km in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. During the border crossing the containers are transshipped from European / Chinese standard gauge wagons to CIS wide gauge wagons or vice versa. In Europe the cross-over from the wide gauge to the normal gauge is effected through specially equipped terminals positioned in Brest (Belarus) / Malaszewicze (Poland) for the northern connection, and Chop (Ukraine) / Dobra (Slovakia) or Zahony (Hungary) for the southern connection. In the Far East the main cross-over point is Zabaikalsk (Russia) / Manzhouli (China) and Dostyk (Kazakhstan) / Alashankou (China), which is serving Chongqing trains. One of the main advantages which of the service is the short transit time compared to the sea freight performance. Basically the average transit time for single container is about 21 days, and for block-train shipments about 14-16 days. On the base of this service Silvirom OÜ offers Europe – China connection for FCL shippments as well as similar connection for LCL shippments with same transit time. This is perfect solution between sea freight and air freight.
